この4月より、海外における研究活動が緩和され、日本学術振興会国際共同研究加速基金(B)によって、9月にフランスのトゥール大学とパリに滞在した。トゥール大学では、大学のフラットに滞在し、ラボミーティングで研究計画を検討し、その後、パリのIPC (Institut de Philosophie Comparée) において、Human and Artificial Rationalitiesという国際カンファレンス参加した。実は、参加したというよりは、パリ第8大学のJean Baratginさんにパリを訪問する旨を伝えたら、ちょうど人工知能の合理性についてのカンファレンスを企画中で、それに日本チームも便乗して、「国際」カンファレンスになったという次第である。プログラムにもあるように、各45分の持ち時間があり、発表に時間的余裕があったのは非常に良かったと思う。なお、19-20日が私たちが参加したHuman Rationalityで、私たちが帰国した後の26-27日がArtificial Rationalityで、前半のプラグラムのみを下記にコピーした。
一番手の発表は、Baratginさんのド・フィネッティの三値論理についてのものである。条件文「もしpならば、q」について、命題論理学 (実質含意) では、pが偽のばあいは、条件文を真としている。ところがそうすると、「もし太陽が西から昇れば、ネコは植物だ」のような条件文を真とするという日常世界との乖離が生ずる。ド・フィネッティの三値論理では、「もしpならば」の条件文は、pが真であることを想定しており、偽の場合をvoid (私は「空」と訳している) としている。彼の発表は、これを条件文確率や条件付確率への適用を試みたものである。
私の発表は、”Contemporary social fragmentation and political
polarization: A dual-process approach”というタイトルで、現代の社会的分断と政治的二極化についてのものである。現代は、これと同時に、人権意識の高揚の時代である。では、人権意識の高揚を招いている心理学的要因が、なぜ包摂ではなく分断や二極化を生じさせるのかというパラドクスを、直感的システムと内省的システムを仮定する二重過程理論によって解決しようというもので、ここではそのモデルを提唱した。これは、11月に上智大学で行われる日本理論心理学会でも、日本語で発表する予定である。なお、案の定というか、フロアからこのモデルをどうやって検証するのかという質問があったが、それは、現時点では秘密にしたい。
